Our Longitudinal Academic Tracks encourage students to explore various areas of interest alongside their four-year medical school journey. These faculty-run scholarly experiences are designed to cultivate skills for self-directed, lifelong learning and career development, fostering intellectual curiosity, scholarly inquiry, interprofessional collaboration, and cura personalis.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in Medicine Track

This track equips future physicians to be leaders and advocates committed to dismantling health disparities and fostering equitable care for all. Students cultivate skills in anti-racism, cultural humility and social justice to transform healthcare and improve patient outcomes in diverse communities.

Health Justice Scholars Track

The Health Justice Scholars Track trains future physicians to leverage law and policy as tools for advancing health justice and racial equity. Students collaborate with legal and policy advocates to dismantle systemic barriers and champion holistic care for intentionally marginalized communities.

Population Health Scholar Track

The Population Health Scholar Track provides foundational knowledge and research skills to understand the broad determinants of health. Students train as leaders to promote health equity and address disparities in communities through outcomes-based scholarly projects and health policy engagement.

Bioethics Academic Track 

The Bioethics Academic Track enhances critical ethical reasoning skills in biomedical ethics for future healthcare leaders. Students lead four-year mentored projects, developing expertise in protocol design, data analysis, and manuscript writing, culminating in presentations and potential publication.

The Environmental Health and Medicine Track prepares future physicians to understand and address the profound health impacts of climate change and environmental toxins. Track Participation & Eligibility

The Longitudinal Academic Tracks are extracurricular opportunities designed to enhance the core curriculum, allowing students to build upon specific interests in medicine throughout their four-year undergraduate medical education.

Application Process

Eligibility Criteria (Academic Standing)

To ensure prioritization of core curricular elements and support workload balance, students must maintain good academic standing to participate in a Track.
