At GUSOM, we are proud to provide the highest level of support throughout the financial aid process.

For all students, the Applying for Financial Aid section on the menu describes the GUSOM financial aid application process. Our office operates in a hybrid capacity. Please contact us by email for assistance and/or to set up a virtual meeting at medfinaid@georgetown.edu.
Important Financial Aid Deadlines
These deadlines apply to all applicants regardless of admission status (e.g. wait-listed, not yet interviewed, etc.). Further details for each of these steps can be found at the Types of Financial Aid on the menu.
To Be Considered for Institutional Financial Aid
- February 6, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST): GUSOM Financial Aid Form must be submitted by this date to be considered for institutional aid (regardless of admission status; no exceptions to this deadline)
- February 6, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST): 2026 – 2027 FAFSA must be submitted by this date to be considered for institutional aid (regardless of admission status; no exceptions to this deadline)
- February 6, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST): CSS Profile must be submitted by this date to be considered for institutional aid (regardless of admission status; no exceptions to this deadline)
All incoming students who wish to apply for need-based institutional aid must complete:
- The Georgetown School of Medicine Financial Aid Application;
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); and
- The CSS Profile regardless of admission status.
Please read the instructions that are included with the financial aid application carefully, and note all filing deadlines, to ensure all required information is provided to our office. International students are not eligible to apply for need-based institutional aid.
To Be Considered for Federal Loans Only
- March 1, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST): To request a federal loans-only package, GUSOM Federal Authorization Form and 2026 – 2027 FAFSA must be submitted by this date
Accepted applicants will be notified of their financial aid package beginning in late February.
For Current Students
We support current students in several different ways:

- Loan repayment workshops
- Meetings throughout your four years to plan for things like rotations, residency, upcoming semester expenses, travel, the loan borrowing process, and any other areas students have questions about
- One-on-one financial aid counseling sessions with a member of the Admissions and Financial Aid Office to ensure all students feel supported
- Quarterly newsletters for all current students
- Drop-in office hours
