Dr. Stephanie Cardella | Class of 2011
Dr. Stephanie Cardella, class of 2011 alumna, shares how she immediately felt welcomed into the Georgetown community. As a Medstar teaching scholar and inpatient associate program director for inpatient medicine for the internal medicine residency at Georgetown, Dr. Cardella continues to support residents and medical students at Georgetown’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Matthew Civilette | Class of 2022
Dr. Matthew Civilette, class of 2022, discusses how his education at Georgetown and his understanding of Cura Personalis became his foundation for his work as a US Navy Flight Deck Surgeon. Dr. Civilette was a member of the Health Professions Scholarship Program during his time at Georgetown and reflects on how his Jesuit education translates to life after medical school.

As a graduate of the MD/PhD program, Dr. Jolly reflects on the support both pre-clinical and clinical mentors provided, how GUSOM prepared him for residency, and his appreciation for a Jesuit education coming from a different religious background.

Dr. Notario was one of the first few student leaders of the Hoya Clinic, where medical students continue to provide medical care to the D.C. community.

Dr. Jon Zurawski, class of 2012 alumnus, shares how his success in clinical neurology and as an Multiple Sclerosis specialist was impacted by his training at Georgetown, especially by having the opportunity to shadow a neurology mentor who provided strong patient care and learning opportunities. As a leading researcher in MS, Dr. Zurawski continues to practice Cura Personalis by helping his patients find hope and resilience when faces with incurable disease.
